In late February 2020, Bitmain released the S19 Pro miner, which has a rated power of 110T±3% and wall power of 3250W±5%. By the end of May, the 19 series mining machines have been delivered to each mine. After the stable operation of the mining machine for a period of time, our staff arrived at a mine in central Inner Mongolia and spent four days on-site measuring the actual operation of the S19 Pro mining machine.
1. Local climate and inlet air temperature of mine
According to historical weather data, from June to August 2015 to 2019, the highest annual temperature records in the region were 32 ° C, 31 ° C, 36 ° C, 31 ° C, 31 ° C. The mine is located in an industrial park, and the air flow is side in and top out. If the highest ambient temperature in summer is calculated as 34℃, according to the heat source characteristics of the mine, the highest temperature of the plant in summer should not exceed 37℃, the air temperature after passing through the water curtain should not exceed 31℃, and the relative humidity is between 30-80%.
2. Introduction of mining machine
S19 Pro mining machine is a chassis power integrated design, the size of the bare machine is 370×195.5×290mm, can be placed horizontally or vertically according to the height of the shelf space in the mine; The mass is 13.2kg.
The heat sink is a streamline design. Although the wind resistance cannot be effectively reduced, the heat diffusion area of the chip is effectively increased by the design of the heat sink, so that the heat generated by the chip can be evenly and quickly transferred to the heat sink and taken away by the wind in time.
3. Measured data of mining machine operation
Field personnel select the mining machine under a certain position on the shelf for testing, and obtain the following data through monitoring background.
S19 Pro mine inlet temperature 23.1℃, relative humidity 70%, outlet temperature 38.8℃; The relative humidity was 32%, and the average air volume was 370CFm. The output air temperature is 28.0 ° C. S19pro mining machine power consumption is 3320W, mining machine control page shows the average calculation force is 111.8th /s, so the power consumption ratio of S19 mining machine is 29.69W/T.
- Influence of air volume and air temperature change on the operation of mining machine
According to relevant statistics, 45% of the damage of electronic products is due to high temperature. The high temperature problem in the mine is mainly caused by insufficient ventilation volume, which causes the temperature rise of the mine machine's outlet. In order to get the operation status of the mine machine in different ventilation environments, the field personnel observe the change of the calculation force of the mine machine by changing the air flow through the mine machine, and the results are as follows.
As shown in the figure, when the air intake temperature of the mine machine is fixed at 31℃ and the air volume of the mine machine is reduced from 370CFm to 190CFm, the calculation force of the mine machine does not fluctuate significantly and remains at about 111.4th /s. When the air volume continues to decrease, the calculation force of the mine machine begins to be unstable. Further reduce the ventilation rate of the mine machine to 170cfm, and the high temperature protection of the mine machine occurs. Therefore, for this mine, the actual ventilation rate of each S19pro miner should not be less than 190cfm.
Corresponding to different air volume, the operating temperature environment of the mining machine is also different. As the most typical data index, the relationship between the air temperature of the mine machine's air outlet and the calculation force is shown in the following figure. It can be seen from the figure that the air temperature of the mine machine's air outlet should not exceed 61℃ in actual operation.
- Influence of temperature fluctuation of air outlet on the operation of mining machine
In addition to the air temperature limit that the mining machine can withstand, the fluctuation degree of environmental temperature change also has a certain influence on the operation of the mining machine. By raising the temperature of the mine machine's air inlet from 22℃ to 40℃ in different times, the field personnel observed the change of the mine machine's computing power, and finally obtained the data as follows.
It can be seen from the curve that the fluctuation degree of the air inlet temperature of the mining machine varies from 0 to 3.6℃/s, and the calculation power of the mining machine changes little, which indicates that the calculation power of the mining machine is almost not affected by the temperature environment change in summer.
Influence of environmental humidity change on mining machine operation
The field personnel observe the change of the mining machine's computing power by controlling the humidity of the mining machine's air inlet, and finally obtain the curve of the mining machine's computing power changing with the humidity of the mining machine's air inlet.
